Frankly, I still can not belive that I got selected for this awesome project! Since it was only last summer that I sat down to learn photoshop and digitalpainting in preparation for starting my journey to become a Game Creator Artist. As I am about to start my second and final year, with a master thesis to finish and on the search for an internship, this opportunity couldn't have been better!
I come from a background of traditional painting, using mostly ink and acylics. I would sit endless hours working on one drawing to create the perfect lineart! (alot faster today with ctrl+Z :) ) So with that said, it's no wonder I fell in love with West of Dead! With it's Mike Mignola-ish artstyle, with the grim and dark wild west purgatory world of lizardmen, witches and wendigos, and with who else but Hellboy himself Ron Perlman as voice for Marshall William Mason. I mean, Come on, how cool is that?!
Latsly, I just want to give a quick shout out and thank you to my teacher Max Friberg from Yrgo for supporting me, and to Jeanette and everyone involved from Raw Fury for organizing this event and showing the world that games are, indeed, art!"
